Hello Again everyone....I know it's been awhile but we have had alot going on lately and we have lots of good news to share. Maddie is doing GREAT. She started with the school system here in our home town and the therapist are awesome along with her private contract therapy she also receives. She is now able to sit up and balance herself with little assistance, and she is using her arms SOOOO much more...YAY! She is now eating "REAL" food to fatten her up.....she says it actually has a taste so it's way yummier. We are about to start working with a sippy cup which is HUGE!! She is just the happiest sweetest baby and we are SOOO BLESSED!! She smiles all the time, so we must be doing something right :-) She is on a new seizure medication which has drastically helped her seizures....she goes many days at a time without a seizure which is awesome, but a few still sneak in there once in a while. We will take any improvement on seizures we can get. We had a wonderful beach vacation with our family this September and October. Maddie played in the sand for the first time ever and even sat in the water with me while the waves splashed up on us.....we had a BLAST. She has gotten to work with the WONDERFUL program called DOGS ON CALL here lately and we have meet some awesome people and awesome dogs. Maddie loves animals so she enjoys working with the doggies. She is making great strides with therapy and we are just taking life one day at a time. :-)

A Poem for my Sweet Maddie
A Special Child (Poem, Author ~ Unknown)
You weren't like other children,
And God was well aware,
You'd need a caring family,
With love enough to share.
And so He sent you to us,
And much to our surprise,
You haven't been a challenge,
But a blessing in disguise.
Your winning smiles and laughter,
The pleasures you impart,
Far outweigh your special needs,
And melt the coldest heart.
We're proud that we've been chosen,
To help you learn and grow,
The joy that you have brought us,
Is more than you can know.
A precious gift from Heaven,
A treasure from above,
A child who's taught us many things,
But most of all "Real Love"

Welcome Spring/ Summer 2012
Hello everyone! I hope you are all enjoying this BEAUTIFUL weather we are having...I know Maddie and I are, we have been going for walks around the block, walks in the park, we went and fed the ducks and fish at a park here in Montgomery, AL. However let us not forget our wonderful time at the Lake. Maddie gets to sit out on the front porch and swing looking over the lake and I have turned into a fisher woman...It's beautiful and we LOVE it. :-) Jason, Maddie and I need that time away on the weekends to relax and just enjoy nature, we are so blessed to have all the support from our wonderful family and friends that we do. :-) February was a tough month. We went to Children's Hospital 3 times that month along, once to see her GI Doctor, who ordered a Modified swallow study, which in turn sent us to a Pulmonary doctor who wanted to place a G Tube in her because he "thought" she was aspirating. Turns out they did a chest x-ray and she is NOT aspirating and there is not fluid in her lungs...PRAISE THE LORD!! However she does have a weak swallow for which she receives vital stim treatment on her throat twice a week. She has gained 3 pounds, she is 29.5 lbs now putting her in the 78% percentile for her age..YAY! She is eating her stage 3 baby food GREAT and we are starting her with simple table foods also. Overall she is a happy, healthy baby and my sweet angel. I am truly blessed to get to be at home with her everyday, and teach her, and love her, and raise her the way Jason and I feel is right. Her smiles are like liquid sunshine and they just make my day. Please continue to pray with us that her seizure will stop soon with age. :-) Again we thank you all so much for your prayers ans support!!!

New Year Brings New Adventures
Hello everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, we sure did. We are very blessed to have such a great family who is always here for us and of coarse Maddie got so many great toys and outfits for Christmas. In November of 2011 Maddie got her Rifton Walker which is teaching her how to walk and move her legs to loosen up to become more mobile. YAY! She is progressing great with her walker, each week I take it to her therapy session on Tuesday and we work with her on moving in it by herself and learning to trust herself with movement because that's a huge part of her learning how to walk. She is standing great now, not by herself, but we are getting there. Our biggest challenge is getting her to stop throwing her head back which causes her to lose her balance. Throwing her head back is a game to her and I love that she is playing but it's a BAD habit we are trying to break. She is so much more focused now on people and things and is even playing and engaging in toys a bit, she has her favorites of coarse, anything that makes noise. :-) She is so precious and is trying so hard to talk, so will, and it will be worth the wait I know. She is eating stage 3 food now right out of the jar without choking, which is AWESOME!! I'm so proud of her. She is progressing a little more every day and her seizures are light now and only upset her if she drops her head quickly. She is sleeping all night now and staying awake all day with only a short nap, which is also helping her to progress and learn. We thank you all so much for you thoughts and prayers, and please continue to pray that the seizures stop completely with time.
